Invited by Florida Governor
Jeb Bush to create a Christmas ornament to represent the State of Florida
for the White House Christmas Tree. Attended as a Guest of Honor at
the special reception held at the White House hosted by First Lady Laura
Bush to present the Official White House Christmas Tree with State
Ornaments to the Nation.
Scott Foresman, a National Publisher of Text Books, selected the painting
titled "Pines on the Bayou" as a Unit Opener reproduced on a double page
spread in the 4th Grade Social Studies book titled Regions, which is
distributed throughout the United States and abroad.
In recognition of artistic accomplishments a portfolio of works is housed
in the ARCHIVES ON WOMEN ARTISTS IN THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF
WOMEN IN THE ARTS in Washington, D.C.
The Interior Committee of
FLORIDA HOUSE in Washington, D.C., chaired by former Florida First Lady
Mrs. Lawton Chiles, commissioned a painting for the HOUSE and is now
on permanent exhibit.
