This painting was inspired by plein air
sketches done while kayaking
at Sanibel Island on the west coast of Florida.
There is nothing more beautiful than Roseate Spoonbills feeding among
the mangroves. Their pink color is a result of the food supply available.
The more pink shrimp they eat the pinker the birds become.
